Encyclopaedia (Encyclopedia) of meditation - Meditation – more than “just” practicing silence

Most cultures appreciate it and exercise it on a regular basis – meditation (orientation toward the center). However the range of motivation for “being silent” couldn’t be more dispersive: meditation is not created equal. While some meditate to “mentally get away from it all”, others strive to exercise their “awareness” in quest of enlightenment. Hardly any other spiritual practice knows of so many different subforms as meditation.

What forms of meditation are there?

Christians as well as Buddhists and Hindi appreciate meditation. The cultural techniques differ, however they seek to reach a common goal: to find happiness and satisfaction in life.

In the main, these are the most common techniques of meditation:

Meditation for peace and silence
Attentiveness meditation
Transcendental meditation
Active meditation
Zen Buddhism
Tantra
Yoga
Martial arts
Walking meditation
Dancing meditation
Secret meditation

Secret meditation enables dreams to come true.

The book “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne and the eponymous film shot to fame. Rhonda Byrne’s message is simple – and many just lay in waiting for such a remedy: create your life yourself! Your wishes can come true, all you must do is believe in them. The law of attraction always works out. Don’t dream away your life, make your dreams come to life instead ...

To good to be true? Not at all! You, too, can make your most personal dream come true. And you can begin right now. How? By means of secret meditation.

What is secret meditation?

Not only does secret meditation help you make your dreams come true, it takes you on a journey in quest of yourself. It helps you follow your gut feeling and trust your intuition. You are the creator of your life. You decide what kind of life you want to live. And in case you don’t like your current life: then change it – and change it now! Secret meditation helps you gain more and more trust in yourself and your abilities; it helps you gain peace when you need silence; it gives you energy when you need power – and – it will show you: listen to yourself, recognize yourself, because you are the creator of your life – and you can turn this life into a wonderful experience!

Meditation for peace and silence

Many cultures have turned sitting in silence into a significant type of meditation. Whether
it be Christian Contemplatio or Buddhist Shamata – the goal always consists in a pivotal
quest for inner and outer peace. The sitting poise, mainly in calmness, represents the
attempt of setting all thoughts to rest during meditation. Everyday thoughts and visual
impressions tend to flood the brain at the beginning of the session – the conscious day is in the foreground. Meditation for silence strives to accept their presence and – without
reacting – let them pass through. Once the meditator masters his thoughts – meaning he
allows thoughts and emotions to come and go-, a sense of wellbeing and “inner piece”
begin to unfurl. Meditation introduces consciousness into a “cloud of nescience”, as
Christian mysticism calls it. This state expands it, connects it with cosmic and divine
silence and makes it responsive to new questions, a finer perception, and higher
frequencies of consciousness. Thus, meditation for silence is a base for further steps, such as self-awareness and self-programming – such as described by “The Secret”. The main intention of meditation for silence, however, is for the “tranquilized soul“ to affect
everyday life. The meditator is to learn to keep upright and maintain peace from
meditating in everyday life. Meditation refers to this step as expansion of consciousness.

Attentiveness meditation

Attentiveness meditation, just as meditation for silence and peace, is an ideal introduction to the topic of mediation. Buddhism refers to it as Vipassana meditation. Being one of the most ancient forms, it spread to all circles of laypeople throughout the centuries. Attentiveness meditation works with alert perception of processes instead of extraordinary states of mind or special knowledge. It is based on perception of a person’s own breathing. During meditation, which is performed in a relaxed, mainly sitting poise, attention is dedicated to the rhythym of the oxygen current, the movements of the chest and the abdominal wall such as the flow through the nostrils. Some techniques applied when practising attentiveness meditation include the entire journey through all parts of the body.
Attentiveness meditation tolerates the flow of thoughts interrupting silence and exhales it with the next breath of air. It teaches not to react to cerebral impulses the usual way. The meditator attentively follows the impulses on their way through consciousness. When referring to advanced meditating, attentiveness can be concentrated on both mental and emotional issues and processes.
Deeper insight into intuitively ascertainable truths and thus salvation from fears, illusions, and dependencies is the foremost goal of attentiveness meditation. This makes attentiveness meditation relevant for alternative medical issues and treatment of addiction, as well as modern methods of self-awareness, as used in The Secret.

Transcendental meditation

This form of meditation distinguishes itself by its encompassing, ideological philosophy. Transcendental meditation is a protected trademark. The technique may be taught only by authorized TM teachers and is charged. The founder of the related movement “Global Nation of World Peace” is Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Transcendental meditation focuses not only on the bliss of the individual but strives to reach at a global state of salvation. Maharishis claim that transcendental meditation were the only possible way classifies the movement as a sect.
The meditation itself is carried out in a loose sitting position and is based on repetition of a Sanskrit word, chosen individually for the pupil by the instructor. Half an hour twice a day is considered the right measure for carrying out this basic lesson of transcendental meditation. It sets the mind to peace and enables it to enter into a state referred to as pure consciousness by the TM movement. This is considered to be the human’s true personality. Having gotten into the routine, the meditator is able to transfer this state of consciousness to daily life. Higher lessons consist in so-called Sidhis, supernatural abilities and yogic flying. The positive effects of transcendental meditation on people’s physical and mental health have been scientifically verified. The Maharishi effect envisages that several people meditating in the same place affect the direct social surroundings: transcendental meditation is supposed to reduce accidents and crime.

Active meditation

Cutting after the modern person’s lifestyle, different forms of meditation have been developed to base on physical exercise and interaction in order to find one’s own self rather than by peace and passivity. In a world full of noise, speed and a flood of medial stimuli, active meditation and its orientations are made for preparation for a contemplative phase of meditation. Physical exercise helps transfer consciousness into a state of readiness. Active meditation does not enable a view to the inside, however it does lead to a physical and psychological treaty with oneself. The active phase of meditation concentrates on shaking off, dancing away and exhaling distracting influences. The voices of everyday life grow silent, body and soul enter into mutual peace. Dance and sporting are often considered to be active meditation. Coached meditation for beginners usually start off with physical activity and end in the classical position of peace. This combination got known as dynamic meditation or Kundalini meditation, thanks to the teachings of mystic Osho. Active meditation, however, is no new concept – the traditional practices of Zen Buddhism have been including Yoga and mindful contact with the outside world into their meditations for hundreds of years.

Zen Buddhism

Meditation in Zen Buddhism will not climax in discovery of internal areas or conditions of a mind separated from the outside world. Zen is about man’s unison with reality. The habit of projecting oneself into the future, wanting to achieve something for a state yet to be, to fight, is set aside in Zen Buddhism. Instead, it is all about the mindful handling of all which is present and real right now. Traditional Zen practices result in complete clearance of one’s self and transition into presence, uniting all seemingly contradictory single aspects to one. The borders between one’s self and the outside as well as all contrasts dissolve. Zazen (sitting meditation) or Kinhin (walking meditation) are complemented by reading, reciting, or Samu. Samu describes all mindful handlings. The most quotidian tasks are fine for meditation. Whether it be the conception and care of a garden, tasks in the kitchen, or any other seemingly subsidiary obligation – everything can be carried out with a careful mind and meditative dedication to the present. Zen is never theoretical, it is an active form of meditation: considering the self from a neutral point of view, attention is meant to be taught attentiveness for reality. The goal of Zen is to put aside one’s own ego. Thus, consideration of life and the world will change drastically. The result will, in the best case, be full dedication and abiding by the divine moment: the world and I, we are a unit – there is only ONE form of consciousness!

Tantra

Practiced in modern-day Europe, Neo-Tantra is based on the philosophical foundations of Hinduism, traditional Tantra meditation, and several different semi-therapeutic approaches. Initially, Tantra is about sensual and spiritual recognition of ultimate reality in the physical world. Man is an energetic manifest of this divine principle. Important elements of Tantra are the Chakra and Kundalini. Body and universe are almost magically connected by means of a close, godly alliance. Tantric meditation sets out to experience this unity. Thus, sexuality plays a large role in tantric symbolism. Meditation, visualization of gods, Kundalini yoga, and rarely sexual unifications are part of Tantric practice, however the sexual aspect is in no way organized. Meditation works with mandalas, mundras, and mantras.
Western Tantric practices are often commercialized and concentrate especially on the sexual experience of unity and the spiritual component of physical sexual intercourse. The Hindu and Buddhist experience of divinity in one’s own body is therapeutically translated to meet European needs. Tantric meditation, in a healing sense, corresponds to mindful, loving contact with one’s own and the foreign body. Serious Tantric meditation, however, rarely transfers this to sexual intercourse. Instead, the cosmic gods Shiva and Shakti and their union are central to meditation. The spiritual touch to tenderness is meant to prepare couples for a deeper experience of sensuality.

Yoga

The spiritual lectures of Yoga stem from Indian Buddhism and Hinduism. The soul is considered a traveler, the body is the carriage: The five senses are the horses and common sense the navigator. Sanskrit calls the soul carriage’s harness Yoga. The Upanishaden lectures, created 700 years before Christ, turned into the foundation of a philosophy describing the path to enlightenment via meditation. Ethnic foundations and pathways of Ascesis and retreat lay at the base. Today’s Yoga consists mainly of the physical exercises, the Asanas, combined with breathing meditation and phases of rest. These methods of meditation, such as the popular sun salutation, are practiced throughout the western world but were developed centuries later. They make up a small part in the traditional Yoga teachings. The physical exercised were originally meant to supplement for training and preparation for lengthy, demanding sessions of meditation in the lotus position. Later on, the connection between physical exercise and mental rest were recognized even in traditional Yoga. Serenity and a balanced flow of energy between the body’s Chakras in spiritually influenced forms of Yoga are the goals of modern meditation. Ascesis and retreat from the sensual world hardly play a significant role, however. Yoga has been mixed with forms of meditation and wellness that hardly incorporate spiritual aims.

Martial Art

Especially the Asian martial arts include several elements based on spiritual concentration and meditation. The slow but strengthening movements of Tai Chi, actually Taijiquan, are meanwhile practiced worldwide. The calm, slow, and fluent motions keep the vital energy in flow, which is referred to as Chi and runs into the meridians of the body. A true expert of internal martial art is able to let his Chi run through his body and thus prevent a fight from even beginning. Nobody wants to challenge a person whose physical and spiritual powers are under his control. Tai Chi exercises are utilized especially for meditational causes and reinforcement of one’s self by western culture. The internal martial arts are based on the Daoistic concept that hardness can be conquered by means of softness. The principles thus include the awareness of the mind, a natural flow of motion, exact perception of the body, and openness for all happenings. In order to practice this way of fighting and living, the motions must first be carried out slowly. What seems to be meditational activity is merely preparation for combat. This form of meditation strengthens body and soul even from a medicinal point of view.

Walking Meditation

Simple rhythmic motion sequences have been used by several different forms of meditation. The everyday motion of walking has been taken by many cultures and turned into a path to self-reflection. During a simple, goalless walk or hike can be used to turn reflection from the outside to the inside. Christian and Asian forms of meditation, however, have set their main focus on movement meditation based on walking. The Christian pilgrims’ paths are a prominent example. Medieval cloisters are meant for the same purpose – praying believers have no goal, instead they have the transcendence of the moment. The circle of terrestrial suffering is gone through step for step, until humans finally find salvation. Zen refers to Movement Meditation as Kinhin. Even Buddha dedicated himself to daily Movement Meditation prior to his enlightenment. Beginners will find the physically laborious Sitting Meditation simpler when combined with phases of Movement Meditation. During Zen exercises, this is perfectly common. A mentored Movement Meditation pattern can be found in the books of the Tibetan author Tich Nhat Hanh (who is a popular representative of Movement Meditation).

Dancing Meditation

Often utilized as preparation for the actual meditation, as an intermediate step, and also as follow-up, meditative dances have had room to develop. The dancing dervishes have grown famous for preparing themselves for ecstatic states of mystical immersion by means of dance. The mind frees itself during the gyrating movements and the body finds itself at the center of the perception of the world. Mind and senses are open and ready for meditation and the direct visualization of cosmic and divine forces.
Considered a continuation of Shiatsu, a Chinese form of treatment by means of meridians, the meditational dance Ohashiasu was developed to nurture vital energy and self-healing power of patients and treated humans. Modern meditations integrate dances into physically based meditation and trance exercises. The therapeutic effect i soften in the foreground, while the spiritual aspect tends to be forgotten about. Partly, traditionally Balkan striding dances are used for easing the body in between two passive meditations. The effect of movement and dance, perhaps accompanied by music, can help people feel their bodies, get into contact with their feelings and give utterance to them. Many dancing schools offer courses in meditational dances: whether it bet he archetype dance, the tarot dance, the circle dance, sacred dances, ort he development of one’s very own dance of the personality. Many varieties are imaginable. The holistic experience of dance with rhythmic means of expression has become one of the most complex possibilities of spiritual, active meditation in our modern-day society, which is rather antagonistic to our body.

Michael Jackson and Meditation

Not even in celebration of the 1st anniversary of the death of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, will the conspiracy theories concerning his death remain silent. Did the organizers of his planned “This is it” tour have anything to do with his sudden death on 25th June 2009? Why did they prohibit contact to Michael’s family and friends? What role does Jackson’s private physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, and his official contradictory testimonies play? He delivered Michael Jackson the deadly cocktail of sedatives and narcotics which, amongst other things, contained the anesthetic Propofol, the night he succumbed to the subsequent apnea and asystolia. Michael’s sister La Toya even claims publicly that Michael’s death was no accident and that he had to die for his music rights, and thus for avarice.

It is indisputable that Michael Jackson assumed his addiction to medication during the making of the Pepsi advertisement in 1984, when his hair caught fire and he suffered third-degree burns. He had demonstrably suffered from insomnia for years and attempted to treat the ailment with various strong sedatives. He spent tens of thousands of dollars for the medication, which he is said to have obtained partly under a false name.

As of late, it has gotten known that Michael Jackson made several attempts to assume control of his addiction to medication. One of his attempts, so say insiders, is believed to be a certain form of meditation referred to as Secret Meditation. This is said to be an audiovisual form of meditation, not so much applied for success through relaxation but rather to obtain a rise in one’s own personal energy balance. Secret Meditation is considered an active form of meditation. It addresses all senses via video, language, sounds from nature, and music, aiming to constantly keep the energy level high – this was a combination that would obviously appeal to the musical legend.

A large amount of vital energy was what Michael Jackson could have done with for his imminent obligations: Having reached the age of 50, he intended to give 50 concerts and prove the world anew what the documentary film on his planned tour “This is it” had already demonstrated: That he truly is the King of Pop. Whether there is an actual point to the meditation rumors will never be fully resolved. However the King of Pop was well-known for his penchant toward extravagant issues. His foible for spirituality was no secret. Whether Michael Jackson really did utilize meditation as training will remain an open question. Speculations, however, put it to proof: The gossip factory is working overtime even one year after Michael Jackson’s death.

Bliss is relative

“Bliss is relative,” as a certain man named Albert Einstein would say. Some people can be happy experiencing vocational and social success, while others need to be able to purchase material goods. A family with children, a pet dog, and a house of one’s own is a frequently cited scenario of bliss. Experiencing the birth of one’s child with one’s beloved partner stands for happiness par excellence. However a mere sunny day spent lying in the meadow and glancing at the clouds can bring happiness, too.

Happiness is often related to wealth, health, and family issues. Finding real bliss is often the most adventurous matter on earth – if one happens to find anything at all.

While actually finding it is not that hard. There is a place fitted with obvious guide markers pointing out the path to joy: It is referred to as gut feeling, the inner voice, or intuition.
This voice, this feeling, or whatever one prefers considering it as, functions as a compass: In consistently following the direction, the goal becomes reachable.

In order for the compass to function correctly all the time, it is necessary to constantly keep its energy on a high level, which is often wasted on stress, arguments, or anger. Many a person strives to find a balance by means of sport or physical relaxation. There is, however, another possibility to substantially raise one’s own level of energy without going to great effort: By means of Secret Meditation. It is considered an utterly new form of meditation, referred to as active meditation. Secret Meditation http://www.secret-meditation.com considers itself a kind of energy service station, rather than setting the goal of reaching deep relaxation. The meditator is audiovisually stimulated to raise his energy level, meaning by use of film, music, language, and sounds of nature. The sunrise variety enables people to start the day, the star sky variety is meant for letting the day fade away. Both consume no more than ten minutes and can be integrated into the day whenever a gnawing of hunger for energy comes, as the media can be read by many different types of players.

The turbo alternative on the way to bliss

As soon as the meditator is able to visualize his joy, to imagine and sense it in his mind, he directs the energy he received during Secret Meditation directly onto this inner picture and the correspondent sensation. In continuously exercising this, true wonders will enter his life and possibly change his entire conception of bliss. Experience has shown that sometimes dreams and wishes turn out not to be so divine and desirable once reached; and then there are those things that make people happier than they would have assumed. Good old “Albert” would have been right in stating, “Bliss is relative!”

Formula One of Meditation

When speaking of meditation, many people come up with the thought of long, calming, relaxing sessions that tend to end in deep sleep. And they’re right about it: When preparing for meditation, having the children safely in bed is the first step, turning off all possible confounders – the windows are to be shut, even the telephone ought to be unplugged. In addition, a suitable seated or lying position is to be found; for one is to attentively listen to meditation. The relaxation exercises, including the preparation phase but ignoring the episode of deep sleep, will consume a good hour of time by themselves – which is, for many, too long a time span. Thus, they prefer not to get themselves into meditation in the first place.
Which is a pity, because that’s not the way things necessarily have to be:

Luckily enough, it isn’t as loud but equally modern, effective, and swift as an arrow: Secret Meditation http://www.secret-meditation.com

In terms of new, active forms of meditation, audiovisual Secret Meditation is what Formula One and its stars, such as Michael Schumacher at the Mercedes Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel in his Red Bull Renault, or Fernando Alonso in his red Ferrari are to their fans.

Secret Meditation is different to all intents and purposes. The technique convinces “meditators” by means of activity. Which means as much as: Secret Meditation does not aim to achieve deep and long-lasting relaxation. Quite the opposite: Secret Meditation quickly but effectively supplies the meditator with fresh new energy. Even meditational teetotalers will profit from this method. The audiovisual effects by themselves are entertaining and cater for some nice variety for in between – which makes them ideal as a snack for the break. Films, music, language, and the sounds of nature enter into an entirely new symbiosis during Secret Meditation.

Two varieties of meditation – each of them ten minutes in length – are supplied in different file formats. The sunrise variety is ideal for morning meditation, or the little pang of hunger for energy in between, while the star sky variety is meant for the evening hours. Prior knowledge of meditation is not required. Experimental personalities will find a huge range of application.

Green Energy 2.0 – generating energy without emissions

“Green energy” is on everyone’s lips, although rather unwelcome with large energy trusts such as RWE or eon. Since the Renewable Energies Act, which has been valid for nearly ten years, suppliers of alternative sources of power have been offered long-term minimum reimbursement by law, which must be accepted and paid by the energy trusts-

A new branch of industry was born.

Windmills have not disturbed anybody for ages meanwhile – and, to be honest, compared to the electricity pylons and their lines windmills look like sculptures. Solar panels on the roofs have become a part of normality, and who decides to run a solar power system on their roof is no longer considered a tree-hugger. Geothermics, which means geothermal heating, hydroelectric plants, or biogas facilities enable a small prospect of what is possible using renewable sources of energy and applying them in an ecofriendly way.

Our earth and the universe gave us inexhaustible energy supplies which we can be put to use for our purposes at any time and any place, by any person – without squandering them:

Energy service station for users of the iPhone, the iPad, the Laptop, or the PC

Cell phones, laptops, and PCs are full of energy – it’s the users that often feel fully discharged.

Loss of power is not only a topic for electrical gadgets. Who suffers from lack of energy will perform poorly. And with the charging cycles growing shorter, total dissipation becomes an issue. In order to prevent a total burnout of energy, there is a special technique for the users of cell phones and other gadgets: Secret Meditation.

This new form of meditation is considered an active variety of meditation, meaning it is not about reaching long-lasting deep relaxation. Secret Meditation is different. It gives the user a push and gives him the experience of a high-end quick and effective energy boost. Some people have learned to rely on their gut feeling when it comes to serious decisions – their success is astounding. Some call it intuition; others consider it a diligent decision aid from inside, coming straight from the soul. And then again others went a step further and assume this to be the voices of the deceased or their guardian angel.

Having read numerous publications on the topic of luck and creation of an own reality, such as “The Secret”, “The Law of Attraction”, or “Placing orders with the universe”, many an adventurer may be coaxed into thinking the source of their intuitive inspirations is to be found in the vast worlds of Captain Kirk and Co.

The line of argument is bound to be hard. However all one needs to know is that these messages from the universe do exist indeed, and that they will help make the right decisions in life in word and deed – and that these voices and energies are there for everyone. There are countless possibilities to take from this source. One of the most effective possibilities is a new, active form of meditation.

Secret Meditation is different to all intents and purposes. The technique convinces “meditators” by means of activity. Which means as much as: Secret Meditation ( http://www.secret-meditation.com ) does not aim to achieve deep and long-lasting relaxation.

The relaxed manager

“Your secretary successfully fobs off all your phone calls and attempts to involve you in a conversation – but that’s nothing you want to concentrate on anymore. You acquired a relaxing position in your office and are enjoying your individual meditation. You have your silence, and you have all the time in the world.

Dive down into deep, recreative relaxation and fill up on energy for the perfect decisions during the rest of the day. Coming from deep peace and relaxation, equipped with energy and vigor, there is only one kind of decision you will be making: The right one.

Success will be your permanent companion from now on. The people around you strive to perform your targets best possible and are enjoying their work. You yourself begin not to call your job real work anymore because it makes so much fun to you.

At the point when it seems outrageous to actually ask money for it will you wake up ...”

Werner Jakob Weiher from Verlag Jakobsweg describes the deepest wishes of many an executive employee, firm owners and decision makers in our economy. An experienced entrepreneur himself, he recommends the proven solution:

“What if this sublime imagination does not necessarily have to remain a dream? What if you could really reach all this – including the fact that it must be quite embarrassing for you to actually be earning money for doing something that actually makes fun to you?

No, you needn’t visit any seminar. Neither a personal trainer nor a coach is necessary. Without investing much time and consuming financial resources you could as well pay from the petty cash, you can take these goals in stride.

You need no prior experience in meditation. Seeing, hearing, and feeling is all you will be needing. Okay – a bit of fantasy could turn out handy. But that’s it.

The very beginning may be hard for you, but just do exactly what I suggest to you. From my own experience and being self-employed for 25 years, I know that we automatically tend to scrutinize, assess and classify everything. That is exactly what you mustn’t do this time.

Just take the first step by buying the two audiovisual meditations “sunrise” and “starry sky”. You can download them one on the website http://www.secret-meditation.com , or order them on CD. If the texts and explanations on the website aren’t to your liking, then please just ignore them.

Place the meditations, either “sunrise” and/or “starry sky”, onto the desktop of your computer or laptop, or onto your palmtop or cell phone. First thing in the morning open the sunrise meditation, and before you shut down the computer in the evening, open “starry sky”. Just follow the spoken texts.

Both meditation varieties consume a mere 10 minutes of your time – you can do them anywhere, anytime. Your coworkers don’t even have to know about the newly discovered power meditation strategy – however they will soon begin to wonder where you get this enormous amount of energy.

Having practiced Secret Meditation for a week at least, you will soon notice that you turn far more relaxed and are full of energy. You will know intuitively which is the right decision for your personal and vocational progress and which isn’t. And when you realize that Secret Meditation more than just works out – then why would you ever want to go without again? There would be no reason to do so.

And, what’s best about it: Nobody taught you this knowledge – it was and is inside you. You have discovered a possibility to regain this knowledge.

Carry off your laurels: Look forward to your own success and that of your coworkers, partners, friends, and – last but not least – of your own family.

And if your surroundings aren’t ready for the knowledge you are about to reach via meditation and intuition, then why not just keep your personal secret to success all to yourself. – After all, nobody has to know. ;-))”

Meditation, success and humor seem to go well together – better than one may think. The petty cash friendly prices for the meditations obviously find interested buyers on the Internet pages.

Werner Jakob Weiher has a special, unique offer for all skeptics: He is so convinced of his Secret Meditation that he is willing to supply the first 1000 skeptics with both forms of meditation at no cost whatsoever.

“After two months I ask you to calculate your personal and financial gains you achieved due to regular meditation and transfer 1% of the sum to me – provided you achieved any personal and financial gain from practicing the meditation at all, of course.”
